Total walked 5.2km, daily total 13km, 1999km to go.
I've downloaded the blogger app for iPod and it seems to work quite nicely. Currently sitting in a cafe abusing the cloud.
This is possibly my favourite spot in Cabot Circus, hidden in plain sight with excellent people watching potential. Oh and the coffee isn't too bad either.
There is a list of activities you can use to clock up your distance on the website. I'm wondering if I should try them all...

Thanks for dropping by. I set this site up to track my progress towards the completion of my 2012 challenge. I'm aiming to travel 2,012km in 20.12 (appx) weeks in the gym or on the road. You can sign up yourself (or find out more) at this website.
Early on in the process I realised that the distance I would be covering would get me from Bristol, UK - where I live - to the outskirts of Rome, Italy. So I've been tracking my route along the way following this map.

Softly softly
So this is where it begins. On a cross trainer at the gym. 2004 to go!
I'm going to be logging my walks using a number of different tools, to see which one integrates with my style best and has the easiest technology for eejyots.

what have I done??
In a moment of seeming weakness, I began the registration progress for the 2012 km challenge (www.goldchallenge.org). Before I knew it, I had signed myself up to deliver 2012 km through swimming, running, cycling, rowing - or a whole load of other means which I probably won't get to (but it's an option).
So I thought it would be an idea to try & track my progress, my thoughts and other related stuff here. It will also make me commit to writing something - anything - to get over my fear of posting on the interwebs.
So - I will start gently, tracking as I go. Don't expect too much from this, and you won't be disappointed.. :-)
